Chartering in Croatia: which insurance is actually required
Anyone chartering a yacht in Croatia does not have to take out skipper liability, deposit, or trip cancellation insurance themselves. What is required, however, is liability insurance for the chartered boat. For a regularly chartered yacht, this cover is the charter company’s or boat owner’s responsibility. Significant personal risks can still remain for the skipper, which is why additional skipper liability insurance and charter deposit insurance can make sense.
